I grew up in California and Washington, but summered in Maine as often as possible. I've spent my adult life here in Maine raising five children and living the good life. Presently I'm blessed with one grandson, and while I plan my teaching I frequently ask myself, "Would I want that for Nolan's education? Are these the type of experiences I want Nolan to have at school? Would this help Nolan to become happy and healthy?"
Working as an Education Technician at Hartford Sumner Elementary School for fifteen years, I learned a lot about teaching. I graduated from UMF in 2000 and have taught ELA and Science at the middle school ever since. I love the kids, am never bored, and always problem solving! I'm constantly learning more about the science of everything, refining my art of teaching, and continuously revising my thinking about how kids learn best. I'm certain of one thing, I'll never have it all figured out! |
